Cara Semino, O.D.
Optometrist
DR. SEMINO (seh-mee-no) was raised in northern Wyoming. She earned her Bachelors in Kinesiology and Health Promotion on an academic scholarship at the University of Wyoming and later received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California. During optometry school, she found a passion for fitting contact lenses, co-managing refractive surgery, and treating ocular disease. Pursuing that passion, Dr. Semino completed her residency in Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease at the Riverside-San Bernardino County Indian Health system. Prior to joining the team here, she has been a clinical instructor and clinician for the Indian Health system, educating residents and optometry school students as they progressed in their own optometry careers. Dr. Semino is licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and is certified by the National Board of Optometry in the treatment and management of ocular disease.
Ben Szu, O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Szu graduated from UC Irvine with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences in 2010 and graduated from the UC Berkeley, School of Optometry (UCBSO) in 2018 with a Doctorate of Optometry. He is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa international optometric honor’s society. He was presented with the Ambassador of the Year award in 2016 and the Robert B. Greer Award for Excellence in Low Vision in 2018 at UCBSO. He received the Gold Retinoscope award in 2018, which is given to the top student in the graduating class. He completed a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the San Francisco Veteran Affair’s Medical Center in 2019
Kevin Grant, O.D.
Optometrist
Dr. Grant received his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from UCLA in 2001 and graduated with honors from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2007. He completed a one-year residency in ocular disease and primary care with the Veteran Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System in 2008. He is licensed in Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents in California and in Therapeutics/Glaucoma treatment in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and currently applying to be a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
